In the last WhitePaperNews article, Michael A. Stelzner suggested promoting white papers on Facebook, and that's a good idea. This time around, we'll get even more specific, with info regarding the best time to make a post.
White paper authors shouldn't do much of anything on Facebook on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday, according to information from Vitrue and MediaPost. Recorded clickthrough rates for Facebook wall posts were especially low on those days, ranging from 4.39 percent on Thursday to 2.67 percent on Friday to 2.70 percent on Saturday.
Surprisingly, you'd be a lot better off making a post to promote a white paper on Sunday - the clickthrough rate reached 7.63 percent then. Monday, for some reason, was better still, with the rate hitting 9.40 percent.
Then, Tuesday and Wednesday turned out to be the two best days, as Vitrue and MediaPost found the clickthrough rates to be 9.89 percent and 9.87 percent, respectively.
Vitrue stated in a corporate blog post, "Marketers should take note of this data and use it to shape their social messaging strategies, pushing high priority updates out by mid week. As brands drive to amass substantial fan bases of 1 million+ there are tremendous efficiencies and insights to be achieved."
